Your nostalgic visit to the Railway Museum starts in the old Maliebaan Station, where you are the first train passenger in 1874. A direct train to Paris used to depart from this station twice a day. Wander through wonderful rooms with marble floors, chandeliers and a royal waiting room. Look out of the window of this waiting room and you can see the royal train, the train on which Queen Juliana used to go on holiday with her children and grandchildren. In this attractive Maliebaan Station you will be welcomed with coffee, tea and titbits.
In the new museum building you can meet the man behind the first steam locomotive in the land of the Great Discovery. Let passengers from the Orient Express tell you about their oriental experiences. The Gommers family will guide you past, over and under the most impressive locomotives from the 20s and 30s. A lovely lunch awaits you in the museum restaurant. Visit the outdoor area and watch the theatre performance in the land of Dream Journeys. A guided tour of the favourite trains of one of our guides will make this day an unforgettable journey back in time.
