Unfortunately we can’t ice skate this year in the museum. But Winter Station has a special program for young and old. The whole museum is transformed in wintery atmospheres with Christmas trees, garlands, hundreds of lights and fun acitivities. The smell of poffertjes and oliebollen, outside the fires are burning where you can roast marshmallows.

And this year it’s extra special, because in the large museum hall special (international) dining trains that are part of the first-class exhibition ‘Tosti’s Truffles Trains’, about food and beverage in trains. All rides are also open in the museum. Journey through the history and future of the railroads in the award-winning attraction De Vuurproef.

Visit the recently renovated (open 8 December) Stalen Monsters, where you can learn all about working at the railroad in a real roller coaster. During Winter Station there is a special winter and exhibition program with presentations of our EduTRAINers, a treasure hunt and children can craft chef’s hats. And don’t forget to take a spin in the nostalgic merry-go-round.

Opening Hours

The Spoorwegmuseum is open during Christmas holiday from 10.00 until 19.00 hours.

Christmas eve 10.00 – 17.00 hours
first Christmas day 10.00 – 17.00 hours
Second Christmas day 10.00 – 17.00 hours
New years eve 10.00 – 17.00 hours


Winter Station tickets are €17,50, after 15.00 hours €7,50.

With BankGiro Loterij VIP-card and Museumkaart entrance is free.
