De Centrale

At the heart of the museum, right next to the restaurant De Remise, lies De Centrale. On busier days, the space is open to restaurant guests; occasionally, the room is hired out for courses, meetings or presentations.

Although brand new, the Centrale exudes the atmosphere of an old power station. This fits in well with the history of the railways; from the 1930s onwards, power stations were built in various locations across the Netherlands to supply electricity to the newly electrified rail network. The room therefore has an industrial feel and is furnished with classic-looking school furniture. This makes it an atmospheric spot for enjoying a bite to eat and a drink.
