Trackside Creatures

In Trackside Creatures, you will discover the remarkable lives of animals that live near the railway, such as badgers, beavers and storks. How do they encounter trains? And how do we ensure that humans and animals can coexist safely?

Full of facts and activities

How big do you think a badger is? Do you think you could lift a swan? Find out in Trackside Creatures! In addition to lots of fun facts about different animals, you can also get hands-on. Dig like a badger, crawl through a railway tunnel like a lizard, or climb into a stork’s nest and pretend the trains are rushing past beneath you!

Living together safely

Trackside Creatures also shows how humans and animals can live together safely along the railway tracks. For example, badgers sometimes have to move to a specially built “artificial burrow”. Special fences have been installed to prevent swans from colliding with overhead lines. And rotating windmills and smooth tubes ensure that storks no longer build their nests on portals.
