Imposing trains

An enjoyable encounter with the finest trains from Dutch railway history. See and experience how trains have become more advanced over the years. From antique steam locomotives and wooden coaches to modern electric trains. Discover what it’s like to stand in the cab of a steam locomotive and experience how hard the men had to work in those days. Listen to stories from passengers and step into the conductor’s shoes by making your own announcement over the intercom. And you definitely shouldn’t miss your chance to have an EduTRAINer open one of the trains especially for you – just ask.

In addition to ‘Trains through the years’, you’ll find special open depots, the Model Stockroom and Warehouse Nijverdal, a real-life goods shed. Hundreds of museum objects are on display here: signal equipment, ticket machines and even a toilet from Queen Emma’s Royal train.

Our museum restaurant De Remise is located next to ‘Trains through the years’ as well.
