Henk Schell

From 1980 to 1994, modeller H. Schell worked with great precision to craft this model of the NS8508 steam locomotive at a 1:11 scale. His model is a faithful representation of the locomotive from a series that was ordered by the Staatsspoorwegen national railway company in 1915. The original number of the locomotive was SS 228. In 1917, when the Hollandsche IJzeren Spoorweg-Maatschappij (HSM) and the Staatsspoorwegen (SS) formed a cooperative partnership under the name Nederlandsche Spoorwegen (NS), the locomotives in this series were renumbered and used only as shunting engines.
