Specifications

The longest model

This model is an astonishing 177.5 centimetres long! That makes this edition of the Swiss Trans Europ Express (TEE) from the 1960s the longest H0 model in our collection. It consists of no less than six carriages and was made by model train manufacturer Lima.

In 1957, the international rail company TEE was founded to provide train travel within Europe. It was an initiative of F.Q. den Hollander, who was then the director of the NS. TEE, which offered only first-class seats, went out of business in 1991 as a result of increasing competition from airlines. A different edition of the TEE train operated on each of the company’s international lines.
