The fanciest model

To some people, it’s very important to always travel in style. Georges Nagelmackers from Belgium felt the same way. In 1874, he founded the Compagnie Internationale des Wagons-Lits: an international railway company that built not only trains but hotels as well. One of Wagons-Lits most famous trains is the Orient Express, which ran from Paris to Constantinople (modern-day Istanbul). Wagons-Lits trains had luxurious sleeping compartments with washing facilities, dining cars and lounges that featured pianos. This H0-scale model of a Wagons-Lits coach is therefore one of the fanciest model trains in our collection.
